New York, NY - After 1051 Days since Pelé announced the return of the New York Cosmos during the halftime of the then Copa NYC, we are less than 50 days away from the Cosmos NASL return! After 2 years, 10 months, 16 days, we’re finally going to see Head Coach Gio Savarese field his team as they face off against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on August 3, 2013.

Before the home opener finally arrives, there’s Tuesday’s Soccer Revolution Newton fundraiser, La Banda Del Cosmos Friday event and this weekend’s Cosmos Copa you can attend. You can bet your bottom dollar that we will attend all three events this week.

We hope we’ve done enough to convince you that we’re dedicated to covering Cosmos Country and it’s dimensions. With that said, if you have anything you want us to post here, please send us a detailed email to us at [email protected].

As tasty and occasionally hard to swallow the appetizers have been, we’re prepared to sink our teeth into the main course. In layman terms, we only want to cover matches while documenting the matchday experience. We have questions and most of them we will be answered later inthe NASL Fall season. Here’s a rundown of our questions:

  • With the last Senate Legislature Assembly before the Summer break taking place this week, will the Belmont Stadium be voted on? Should the stadium plan be denied, what then?
  • Can Gio Savarese win at a professional level?
  • How will this team flow throughout the season? What kind of team will they be?
  • How will attendance fare for the second home match (credit Michael Lewis, BigAppleSoccer.com)?
  • Over the season, will the $25 bus ride from New York plus the $15 ticket be worth the trip?
  • Are the rumors of the Cosmos Girls returning true?
  • What fun should be expect from the Borough Boys, La Banda Del Cosmos and Sagan’s Army?
  • Are there any questions you have?

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be working overtime in preparing for the season as we’re assembling our team. If you wish to be part of this experience, click here. Thank you for your ongoing support. Please follow us @TotalCosmos.
