In response to a rumor going around that Umbro has bought over the Cosmos, we would just like to state that we are certain that UMBRO did NOT buy the Cosmos brand. They might be talking about other business opportunities but NOT a SALE!

Makes sense since Umbro is a subsidiary of Nike...
But if Umbro is working with the Cosmos, does that mean no team in the Adidas League (aka MLS)?
Ive wondered that myself, but i'm sure the Cosmos have thought of this and have left themselves an out if they do infact intend on going to the mls.
A deal now would not effect MLS if the Cosmos try to go that route. Truth of the matter is, MLS would be a long term deal, like 4 years down the road - so if the Cosmos signed an UMBRO deal - i imagine it would be shorter term - 1 or 2 years - which in reality would not effect MLS as that might not be until 2013 at the earliest!
Umbro has purchased control of the Cosmo brand and will use them as a travel all star team. Sorry BB
