New York, NY – Where do I begin? It’s been almost six months since my 7.5-year relationship with my ex-significant other came to an end. I’m not going to lie, the separation had emotionally devastated me. When it’s said and done, we grew apart and needed to move on.
Don’t get me wrong, we’ll email each other every now and then to see how the other is doing. To be honest, emailing my ex is one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done because I don’t know to address her. How do I greet her? Hello? Dear? Que ondas? Greetings to an ex are hellish but the closing is even more painful. Love? Your friend? Your ex? Best? Who the f*ck knows? So whenever I send her an email, I don’t include a greeting or a sign-off.
The hardest part of breaking up is deciding whether or not I should remain Facebook friends with her friends who became our friends over the 7.5-years we were together. Do I inform them of our breakup? Or is it her responsibility? I don’t know. If any of you who fall into this category and had no idea of our status, TADA!
